Lifejacket Service

Orcades Marine is an MCA approved lifejacket service station and we have fully qualified technicians who could service ISO and SOLAS type lifejackets. As an approved lifejacket service station, we would recommend an annual service interval for your lifejackets however depending on your operational requirements and approval authority that you are governed by, it may be a legal requirement. It is a legal requirement if you are operating under SOLAS professional lifejacket requirements.

All lifejackets serviced at our service station will be subjected to a thorough inspection to ensure it is fit for purpose and maximise its performance if required in an emergency. Key tasks that will be carried out as part of the servicing procedure include:

Perform a visual inspection and advise if the lifejacket could be serviced or requires replacing.
Stripping the lifejacket of its components to inspect and test seals, seams and valves.
Pressure testing the bladder in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
Reassembling lifejacket with associated components.
Repacking lifejacket following manufacturer’s specification to ensure full deployment when activated.
