Bruce… Completed basic sea training at Gravesend nautical collage 1996 before embarking on nearly 10 year career with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary , through out this time serving in many theatres of operations on multiple class of vessels.

on leaving the Royal Fleet auxiliary did agency work for a number of marine clients from Northern Lighthouse Board , Northlink, Serco and the paddle steamer Waverley, before taking up a full time post with bibby Marine as Barge Master in their floating accommodation fleet.

Reporting to the fleet superintendent and technical board, responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of a high footfall floating hotel. Secondment to the Barrow Island project in Australia involving setting to work of the Barge in a environmental sensitive petrochemical environment. The Project required mediating with all vested interests- environmentalists, charterer, project management and various project safety departments. A further implementation of the strict project safety and permit to work routines. the project required a strict adherence to quarantine requirements and subsequent difficult logistical problems of stores supply.
