Jonathan is a Master Mariner with a wide range of experience both at sea and ashore. His seagoing career spans 20 years with experience gained from LPG tankers, Ro-Ro, private and charter Yachts and the Cruise industry. Moving ashore he became the Deputy Harbour Master for the Falkland Islands Government, gaining his diploma for Harbour Master, PFSO and participated in the pilot scheme to for category 2 Port State Control Surveyors. This wide-ranging role included all the usual day to day aspects one might expect of a Harbour Master, oversight of terminal operators, berthing and scheduling, PFSO duties etc. He also assisted in the creation of the tender requirements for a new berthing facility and sat on the moderation panel as the subject matter expert for FIG. The role also included work that led to the formation of the Falkland Islands Maritime Authority, work that improved the safety and support for Seafarers, the maritime environment and the maritime industry and in line with the IMO Instruments Implementation Code.
